Mike Patterson

   Dr. Mike Patterson

Mike Patterson has been a Director of Digital Living since 2005. Previously he worked independently as a Chartered Engineer in networks of professional associates on technology development projects, energy technology consultancy, and strategic studies. Before that he held a number of senior positions within BG, Lattice Group (now National Grid) and predecessor blue chip companies.

Earlier in his career Mike held a number of senior management roles in British Gas, including head of division of 40+ graduate and postgraduate scientists and engineers.  He was responsible for British Gas Marketing-financed research and development programmes into energy technologies for the built environment (including advanced environmental system controls).  Previously Mike was a manager of 65+ staff services division for 2 years. Prior to joining British Gas, as a senior research fellow, Mike was a contract research manager of a 15 strong team of university-based technical consultants, working in the applied process sector. Mike programme managed the Equipment Management Trial, a second extensive trial conducted in partnership with the dti.
