Mike
Windsor is the founding Director of Digital Living.
His early career was in mainframe computer operations but early on he moved
into project management and then sales within ICL. From
the commercial market Mike moved to Government sales and was responsible for
sales to the logistics sector of the armed services. In the late 80s Mike set
up the sales operation for Itron and helped grow the UK operations Meter Reading
and Field Service operations. In the early 1990’s he started International
Mobile Systems, specialising in the development and deployment of rugged
in-vehicle computers, which was later sold to a US conglomerate.
Mike opened the
UK operation for HomeRider Systems in 2000, providing both Meter Reading and
Telephony solutions to the UK market. He bought out the UK company from its
parent in 2004 and has guided the company into the residential market through
the recent launch of Digital Living Limited. Mike is an active board member of
TAHI, The Application Home Initiative, and headed the
Service Aggregation Trial, one of the extensive trials conducted in
partnership with the dti.
